Software for cleaning and checking bathymetric and lidar point clouds. It is built for daily use on the vessel or at the beach office: load the survey, filter noise, keep real seabed (or terrain) features, and send a clean dataset into the rest of the processing chain.

Automatic filters cover statistical checks, spline surfaces and spatial coherence. Where the algorithm is not enough, points can be flagged by hand in 2D slices and in the 3D view. Every edit can be undone. Flags already set in the acquisition software are kept. If you prefer not to rewrite the whole file, only the changes can be written back to the source.

A watch folder can pull in new files while the survey is still running. Areas are selected by drag-and-drop. Tide residuals can be reduced with an automatic least-squares height fit. A reference or design surface (previous survey or CAD model) can sit under the data for comparison. Chart backgrounds include CAD/DXF, ENC, GeoTiff and web map services (WMS/WMTS/TMS). Targets and points of interest are handled as geo-locators. Sidescan and backscatter can be viewed in the same project.

The application is 64-bit and uses multiple cores and large memory. Import and export include FAU, GSF, Kongsberg ALL/KMALL, PDS, ASCII, LAS/LAZ, Hypack HS2/HS2X and grids. Optional add-ons cover a dedicated single-beam editor (SBEdit) and raw multibeam reprocessing on import.

AutoClean is a standalone BeamworX module, licensed on a yearly subscription. It can be used on its own or together with the other BeamworX tools. Supplied by GBT.
