Editor for single-beam echosounder traces, shown in chart datum with the raw echogram behind the picked depths. Seeing the acoustics under the HF and LF digits makes it clearer which returns to keep, move or reject.

The echogram stays locked to the result at every zoom level. Palettes and drawing order can be changed. A grid or other reference (for example a previous or multibeam survey) can be drawn underneath for a visual check.

Editing tools include mouse clipping, freehand height assignment, automatic boxcar despike, height averaging and re-digitising the seabed from acoustic strength. Every change can be undone. Edits are stored next to the original picks, so the first digitisation can be restored at any time.

Typical path: NavAQ records the sounder echogram (most modern units already send it on the network; no extra hardware on the echosounder) plus positions from NavAQ or another logger. Those files are then opened in AutoClean / SBEdit.
